SCISSOR LIFT PLATFORMS:
These scissor lifts for the Queensland Railways were designed and constructed by Techniplan to service overhead conductors on electrified railways. The scissor lifts are self propelled by an air cooled diesel and can be operated at speeds up to 25 Kph.
OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY:
The scissor lift platforms are rated for 400 Kg safe working load, with a platform height reaching 6 metres. A 2.5 metre side extension platform allows linesmen to reach overhead insulators and tensioning equipment attached to stanchions beside the track. Rail clamps are used to maintain stability with the side platform extended.
CUSTOM DESIGNED EQUIPMENT:
The machines were designed and constructed in Brisbane to the particular requirements of Queensland Railways. Techniplan specialises in the design of custom built mechanical handling equipment suitable for arduous conditions and demanding climates. The machines con be driven at full speed in the lowered position or at reduced speed in the raised position. The machines can be raised and rotated by use of a large centre jack. This facility is used for driving the machines off the track using specially designed clip together off tracking stands. The machines were supplied by Techniplan complete with a four wheel drive rough terrain carrier vehicle incorporating a 170 KNm off loading crane with range of 4 metres from the truck. This vehicle enables the scissor lifts to be placed on the rail tracks in a variety of difficult access locations throughout the state.

GEN II

The Techniplan GENII maintenance vehicle is a state of the art machine capable of high speed (60 kph) relocation on track, transporting three workers to the work site in air conditioned, dry comfort.

The vehicle incorporates a scissor lift suitable for 6 metre high operation and 450 Kg WLL. The scissor lift platform has a telescopic side shift auxiliary platform, capable of reaching 3.8 metres from the track.

The vehicle incorporates state of the art hydraulic traction circuits, PLC electronic control with self diagnostic capability, elastomeric suspension and a number of sound attenuation strategies for the diesel-hydraulic system, enabling work to be carried out at night in metropolitan areas.

For cross country deployment, the machine is readily unloaded and loaded back on to a crane truck.
